People don’t choose to disbelieve in God so much as they choose to disbelieve in a certain image they have of God. They get those images from watching Christians. If people are repelled by what they believe God to be, we are at least partly to blame for that.
After a recap of what we’ve been talking about for the past six weeks, I'm going to briefly the describe the god that I don't believe in.
Then I'm going to explain the God I do believe in and the Church I've given my life to.
Our focus scripture will be 1 Peter 3:15-16 (CEV)
Honor Christ and let him be the Lord of your life. Always be ready to give an answer when someone asks you about your hope. Give a kind and respectful answer and keep your conscience clear. This way you will make people ashamed for saying bad things about your good conduct as a follower of Christ.
